Window Guards

Woven Wire is the standard of protection for gymnasium windows and lends itself readily to any style of window construction. These window guards have proven their ability to protect stores, churches, schools, homes and factories against thievery and breakage of glass and fire embers over a period of years. When constructed properly they will last the life of the building.
We custom fabricate for your desired opening. Kenco recommends hot dipped galvanized after fabrication. We can also paint over galvanized to match your window trim to give an architectural blend with the windows and building. Polyester Powder Coating and other coatings are available.
Window Guards

STANDARD DUTY

Mesh:	10ga. (.135) steel wire triple crimped and woven into a 1 1/2"diamond mesh, passed through and securely clinched to frame members. OPTION: Expanded Metal #9 1/2 Diamond (Flattened) into an angle frame.
Vertical Frame:	1 1/4" x 5/8" x .080 "C" type steel channel
Horizontal Frame:	1" x 1/2" x 11 ga. steel channel
Horizontal Stiffeners:	Two 1" x 3/8" x 1/8" steel channels or Two 3/4" x 3/8" x 1/8" steel channels Panel frames mortised and tenoned at corners.
Sub-Frame:	1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/8" steel angle full height at each jamb with 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/8" angle clips 2'-0" on center, bolted to sub-frame and attached to masonry reveal with a minimum of 5/1
Optional Features:	Hinges Hook Bar Locking Device Padlock Hasps Lift out type with pin and clip arrangement Basket or box type for pivot sash windows and air conditioners.
Finish Options:	Prime Painted Hot-Dip Galvanized One Finish Coat Powder Coated Other Available Options

HEAVY DUTY

Mesh:	6ga. (.192) steel wire triple crimped and woven into a 2" diamond mesh, passed through and securely clinched to frame members.
Vertical Frame:	1 1/2" x 3/4" x 1/8" steel channel
Horizontal Frame:	1 1/2" x 3/4" x 1/8" steel channel
Horizontal Stiffeners:	Two 1" x 1/2" x 1/8" steel channels
Panel frames mortised and tenoned at corners.
Sub-Frame:	2" x 2" x 1/8" steel angle full height at each jamb with 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle clips 2'-0" on center, bolted to subframe and attached to masonry reveal with a minimum of 3/8" diameter anchors.
Finish Options:	When material is shipped, paint finish may be marred. Field touch-up is normally required. Touch-up paint shall be provided. When special finishes are required, special packaging may be necessary. Window Guards also available using Expanded Metal or Perforated Metal framed into angle framing with 2 point locking device.
